Four Must Haves For a Great Camping Experience

Whether you are new to camping or have been camping most of your life, these tips can help make your next camping adventure your best yet.

Here are the basic four rules to follow:

1. Set Up Shelter. Choose a tent that is right for your situation. Larger tents are usually more difficult to set up and tear down. So if you can get by with a smaller tent, I recommend that you do so. Also, be sure to consider your surroundings by checking out the landscape and your proximity to neighbors.

Make a Fire. Make sure you have enough wood, the right type of wood and the right tools to ensure that you can create, maintain and put out your fire safely.

3. Have a food supply. Cast iron is a great choice for a cooking pan or skillet. Pack and use utensils that serve multiple purposes. Do as much prep work as you can at home and bring only what you need.

4. Have a water supply. Hydration is important. Make sure you are able to transport and store enough for your time in the wilderness. If you don't want to carry around jugs of water, consider filtration and purification systems.

New Sub Category for Real Estate

Many of our users and advertisers have been requesting that we add a sub-category to the "Real Estate" category for those that are wanting to sell or buy land. We listened. Now, whether it is for commercial, residential or agriculture, the “Land” sub-category will display them all and is available now.

In addition to this new sub-category, I would like to remind you that ads with videos get featured on the home page. Today, more than 77% of home buyers are using the Internet to find there next home. Adding a video to your listing is a great to attract more potential buyers and set your listing apart.

Get a Great Deal, Not Scammed

Whether you are new to buying and selling on online classifieds sites or you are a pro, you should always proceed with caution. Remember, you are dealing with someone you have probably never met.

When you use DiscoverStuff, you are using a site that is for local buyers and sellers. We also monitor all ads that get posted to reduce the risk of scams. However, sometimes it is not an ad that is the scam, it can be the person contacting you to purchase the item. To be on the safe side, follow these easy tips:

1.     Always Deal Locally and in Person

o   Dealing with local people and businesses can significantly reduce the risk of being scammed. Also, meet in person when making the transaction. For a little extra security, meet in a public place, take someone with you and have your cell phone.

2.     No Cash, No Deal

o    Do not accept any other form of payment than cash. Period.

3.     Do Not Send Money

o    An overwhelming majority of the people that use DiscoverSuff are good, honest people, but you should still only pay at the time you receive the item. If send the payment before you get the item, there is no guarantee that you will ever get the item you paid for.

4.     Never give out your financial information

o    Under no circumstance should you ever give out your financial information. There is no need for someone to need to know your bank account information, you social security number, credit card number, etc. If you are asked to provide this information, do not proceed with the transaction and notify us immediately of the potential scam.

5.     Trust Your Gut

o    At the end of the day, always listen to your gut. If the situation is making you uncomfortable, back out. One more thing... If it sounds too good to be true..It is.

Below is a email scam that a user received:

"Hello Seller Thank you for your reply to my question about your item. I’m okay with the final price as well and i will like to make an instant purchase,So please do withdraw the advert from the site.I don’t mind adding an extra $40 dollars for you to take the advert down from the site so that i can be rest assured that am in hand of the item,But Please bear in mind that you are not to bother yourself about the shipping of the item okay ? I have already arrange with my agent company that will be coming over for the pickup of the item immediately you receive the personal check/Money Order cos i still have some pending item to pick up at the same time with yours,so the payment that will be send will include the cost of the shipping charges and cost of your item .So I will need you to provide me with the following information to facilitate the mailing of the check..

Your full Name that will be written on the payment.
Your Contact address to mail out the payment,
Your phone number to contact
Your last price of the item.
Once again ,I will like you to know that you will not be responsible for shipping.I will have my mover come over as soon as you have cashed the check

Hope this is clear to you ?

Best Regards"
